While production is ongoing, it is bittersweet to know that some fan-favorite characters won’t be returning. Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney will be back together for season 3, as the two contrasting personalities Rue and Cassie. Given that, the two can potentially team up inSpider-Man 4as rivals.
However, fans can now breathe a sigh of relief as the award-winning HBO series takes its next step toward returning to the screen, following a series of setbacks.

Euphoriaseason 3 production has begun after several delays
Euphoria Season 3 has faced several delays over the past few years, caused by a combination of the COVID-19 pandemic, Hollywood strikes, and scheduling conflicts with the cast. The second season, whichaired in 2022, had left fans eagerly awaiting the continuation of the gripping, often controversial drama.
Finally, in June 2024, HBO executive vice president, Francesca Orsi confirmed toVarietythatEuphoriawill begin season 3 in January 2025. Orsi said,

I am thrilled that we are ready to begin production on Euphoria in January. We could not be happier with our creative partnership with Sam and this incredible cast. We look forward to bringing this new season of Euphoria to life for the fans.
The next chapter of Euphoria will feature a significant time jump, with the characters moving beyond their high school years. This shift opens the door for fresh storylines and new dynamics between the beloved characters.

The third season will consist of eight episodes and is slated to premiere in 2026, with filming expected to continue until October. HBO confirmed last year thatZendaya,Jacob Elordi,Sydney Sweeney,Hunter Schafer, and Colman Domingo would all return for the new season, much to the excitement of fans.

Sydney Sweeney is rumored to appear as Zendaya’s rival inSpider-Man 4
Sydney Sweeney has been on the radar of Marvel fans for some time, with many eagerly casting her in various iconic roles within the MCU universe. Most notably she’s been frequently linked to playing Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat, in the upcomingSpider-Man 4.
The fan cast has its merits, particularly with her chemistry potential alongside Tom Holland. Fans have embraced the idea of her playing the anti-heroine with a tangled relationship with Peter Parker.

Sweeney has previously appeared in Sony Pictures’Madame Webas Spider-Woman. The movie’s disappointing box office performance has already cast doubt on the future of the project. However, that doesn’t mean Sweeney’s potential role is off the radar. In fact, it seems that she has already had discussions with Marvel Studios about other roles, which is exciting news for fans to look forward to.
While Zendaya and Sweeney are set to return inEuphoria, the mention of Marvel is an interesting twist too. With Zendaya being a part of theSpider-Manfranchise and Sweeney’s potentially joining the MCU as a villain, it makes for some fun crossover possibilities.
