With sheer experience in the competitive business market, Sharks are often right about contestants who appear on the popular reality show. But it was back in 2014 when Stanford University graduate and founder of Revolights, Kent Frankovich, appeared on the show and put the $5.7B rich Mark Cuban in his place.

According to a clip shared onYouTube, Kent Frankovich had joined the show with an innovative smart lighting system for bicycles that provided a full range of visibility through LED ring mounts attached to the bike wheel’s rim. Demonstrating both creativity and utility, Frankovich thus sought for $150,000 investment for 10% of his company, Revolights.

Daymond John offered $300,000 for 30% of the business. Whereas Kevin O’Leary went for a royalty deal, willing to give $150,000 for a 7% royalty that would go down to 1% once he made back his investment. But among all, it was Robert Herjavec who saw the real value in Kent Frankovich’s product and offered $300,000 for 10%.

However, despite Robert Herjavec’s compelling pitch, as Kent Frankovich put his offer on hold and began seeking better deals like an auction, it led Mark Cuban to unleash his fury on the entrepreneur. Accusing him of using the platform for his exposure rather than accepting an offer that was double the amount he initially sought, Cubanexpressedfrustration.

Unless you’re screwing with us, it makes no sense whatsoever. I think there’s no chance on God’s green earth that this deal could ever possibly close because you’d be an idiot among your friends to value this company at $1.5 million or even $3 million! So, it doesn’t add up.

This comment prompted Kevin O’Leary to ask Cuban,

Did you just insult him?

Mark Cuban,

Yeah! Because he’s insulting us.

After Mark Cuban called out Kent Frankovich for being a gold digger and accused him of using the platform for a publicity stunt, the entrepreneur stood firm, defending his strategy and vision for Revolights. That’s how Frankovich’s calm demeanor and refusal to back down hinted at a deeper confidence in his product and long-term goals.
