WWE 2K24was released on March 5 for players who pre-ordered the Deluxe or 40 Years of Wrestlemania editions, while the full release won’t arrive until March 8.
Still, early impressions from players have been very positive, praising Visual Concepts for leaning into the fun, zanier aspects of professional wrestling and technical improvements that have made the game smoother than its predecessors.
These improvements were catalogued in arecent thread on Reddit, where the poster highlighted some of the improvements made by Visual Concepts. These upgrades include better load times, diversity in commentator dialogue, better weapon physics and more.

There’s also praise for Visual Concepts’ decision to play into the wacky, zany side of professional wrestling. Onecomment reads, “As soon as I saw The Hurricane throw a slim jim at action-figure John Cena, I was immediately sold on this game.”
WWE 2K24 Review - Upgrades Across The Board
Every mode of WWE 2K24 has seen improvements over last year’s game, which is an impressive feat.
Another common point of praise is for the AI improvements, with several users commenting that matches feel harder at higher difficulties and not everything is a cakewalk, which has been consistently true in WWE 2K games for a long time.
The AI wrestlers also beat the heck out of each other, by all accounts. They occasionally forget what the objective of the match type is, instead becoming overcome with an insatiable bloodlust that can only be sated by hitting an excessive number of finishers on their opponents.
Another highlight is the crowd animations, with one commenter claiming that while playing Roman Reigns, they performed his classic ‘the one’ taunt and everyone in the crowd followed suit.
In a9.2 review of WWE 2K24, our own Matthew Schomer called it “the best wrestling game he’d ever played,” with particular praise for the “massively improved” GM mode.
