Agent Smith has become synonymous with the franchise, and fans are eager to know if Hugo Weaving will be starring in the anticipated sequel after no sign of the star was found in the trailer.
Thankfully, Hugo Weaving himself has revealed all about if he’ll be appearing inThe Matrix 4: Resurrections. Here’s what he had to say.
Will Hugo Weaving Be InThe Matrix 4: Ressurrections?
Unfortunately, it’s bad news for Hugo Weaving fans. The actor confirmed that he would not be appearing inThe Matrix 4: Resurrections.
In an exclusive interview withComingSoon.net, Hugo Weaving sat down and discussed why he wouldn’t be appearing in the upcoming blockbuster.
According to Weaving, theMatrixstar had originally agreed to return for the next instalment in the series after a script reading with fellow cast members. But, due to scheduling conflicts, the director “pulled the plug”.
At the time, the actor already had scheduled work with the National Theatre in London. Weaving said the following regarding negotiations and scheduling forThe Matrix 4: Resurrections:
“I thought we could have done my scenes in May, June and July; and we talked about money and we talked about â they were negotiating. We were all pretty much sorted and agreed on dates and it was all fine, but then Lana decided she didnât think it was going to work. So, she pulled the plug on the negotiations. Thatâs where it ended up. She basically didnât feel that my commitment to the National Theatre was going to fit in with the dates that she had in mind for me.â
So, it looks like Hugo Weaving was originally on board to appear in the next instalment, but scheduling conflicts made it a little tricky. Thus, the star will not be returning forThe Matrix 4: Resurrections. Fans can read more of Weaving’s interview atComingSoon.net.
