Pedro Pascal has been riding high on the success of the HBO seriesThe Last of Usthis year as it received multiple nominations at the Golden Globes and the Emmys. The actor has become the Internet’s darling and seems to feature in multiple projects in a year, with his stardom even fetching him a Marvel role in the upcomingFantastic Four.

Pascal was seen with a sling in his arm at the Critics’s Choice Awards as well as the Primetime Emmy Awards. While he went on stage at the Emmys to announce the nominees, he addressed his sling, saying that he had hurt his shoulder and joked that Kieran Culkin had ‘beaten the s*it out of him’.

Two of the most successful shows of 2023 were the HBO drama seriesThe Last of UsandSuccession. The final season ofSuccessionwon many accolades for the cast and crew, including a Golden Globe win for actor Kieran Culkin, who plays Roman Roy in the drama series. Culkin won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in Television Series – Drama.
During his acceptancespeech, Kieran Culkin jokingly called outPedro Pascal, who was a fellow nominee in the category for his role inThe Last of Us. Culkin said,

“This is a nice moment for me. Thanks to Succession, I have been [in this room] a couple of times. It’s nice but I accepted I was never going to be on the stage. So this is a nice moment. Suck it, Pedro! Sorry. Mine!”

Pascal took the joke sportively, laughing at first, then mock-crying later. He returned the favor at the Emmy Awards when he was called on stage to announce the nominees for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. TheGame of Thronesstar had reportedly hurt his shoulder and addressed this on stage. He said in thespeech,
“Before we get into the nominees for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama series, I’d like to take just a second and make this about me. A lot of people have been asking about my arm. It’s actually my shoulder, and I think tonight is a perfect time to tell everyone that Kieran Culkin beat the shit out of me.”

The camera cut to Kieran Culkin, who had a deadpan, menacing look on his face as the rest of the crowd laughed. Culkin then broke the character and began laughing.
