David Zaslav is very keen on getting WB’s DCU off the ground, and it seems that there is a case to be made from the CEO’s point of view. The DCU is starting out slow, as James Gunn kicks off the franchise withSuperman, before moving on to other shows and films that will flesh out his superhero franchise.

While James Gunn assured fans thatThe Batman, under Matt Reeves, will stay separate from the wider DCU, David Zaslav might be keener on assimilating Robert Pattinson’s version of the Bat with the wider DCU. Fans have compared how fitting the characters look together, given that they have their own distinct looks, but still seem like they belong to the same universe.
An industry insider has reported that there is pressure on DC Studios
DC Studios has been facing some pressure according to insider Jeff Sneider, who reports that David Zaslaff wants DCU’s Batman up and running to fight the Marvel Cineamtic Universe better. This was reported byComic Book Movie, which also suggests that there might be processes in motion to make it happen.
Lady Gaga Has the Most Sinister Plan If She Ever Crosses Paths With Robert Pattinson’s Batman
BringingRobert Pattinson‘s Batman into the DCU would be a good move, given that Matt Reeves strictly wants the universe to be its own separate thing. However, this won’t be the first time that a stand-alone film has been folded into the wider cinematic universe, as was the case with 2014’sGodzilla, which became part of Legendary’s MonsterVerse.
Can Robert Pattinson’s Batman fit into James Gunn’s plans?
Batman: Brave and the Bold, set to feature Damian Wyne as the Robin for the DCU, might not have space to work with Robert Pattinson’s Batman. Given that the character’s universe is vastly different from that of the DCU, the idea might not sit well with fans or creatives, after all.
Given this rumor, it seems that the DCU might be forced to repeat the mistakes of its predecessors, as fans might not be keen on seeing a good Batman project be bogged down by franchise filmmaking.

The Penguin Episode 2: Not an Original Character, Theo Rossi’s Julian Rush May be a Long Forgotten Batman Villain in Disguise
It must be noted that while fans are right about giving the universe a second chance under James Gunn, they might not be so keen on giving it a third. David Zaslav’s concerns are genuine, but the solution is not bringing Pattinson’s Batman into the DCU. Perhaps the film afterSupermancould focus on the Caped Crusader, or he could make a cameo that is later cast further down the timeline.
