What happened to Burke Ramsey?

There were many speculations about Burke Ramsey being the main suspect in JonBenét Ramsey’s murder. Back in the day, Star Magazine (viaDaily Camera) made a statement in the aftermath that the brother, who was only 9 years old, had allegedly murdered his sister. Burke’s older half-brother, John Andrew, told in the Netflix docuseries viaUSA Today,

It’s just absolutely absurd to think, ‘Oh yeah, he could’ve killed his sister and delivered this level of violence’.

But in 1999, the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office officially ruled out that Burke had nothing to do with the murder and he was never a suspect in the offense. After the demise of the youngest Ramsey, the family left Boulder, Colorado. The parents John and Patsy Ramsey decided to move to Charlevoix, Michigan, as perPeople. There, Burke completed his high school away from all the media and public scrutiny.

However, in 2006, Burke’s mother Patsy passed away due to ovarian cancer, leaving him and his father behind. Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey?

It’s still a mystery who killed JonBenét Ramsey. However,Netflix‘s docuseries accumulates all the previous interviews and media coverage and shows how it was so wrong to accuse the brother of the murder. Paula Woodward, an investigative journalist who had covered the case back then, said in the documentary,“People hated the Ramsey, and it was because of the information that had come out about them that was incorrect.”

The docuseries also showed how the Ramseys were always surrounded by cameras and media personnel. The family went through a lot. During one of the mock trials, a woman who identified herself as the child abuse expert accused the family of“s*xually stimulating”JonBenét Ramsey. The trial sent Patsy to bed. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing.

Police twisted some facts and leaked them to the media which ended up becoming a huge deal. Woodward said, the cops“took these little bits of information, twisted them around, and then gave it to these few media reporters who said, ‘Hey, I’ll go with it.’”
