News, that Wells Fargo has denied her access to her financial assets and statements. Williams claimed that the denial was based on allegations that she was “of unsound mind.” The TV personality further alleged that by restricting her access to bank accounts containing “several million dollars,” Wells Fargo is causing “imminent and irreparable financial harm” to herself, her family, and her business.
In her petition for an emergency injunction filed on August 19, 2025, Wendy Williams’ lawyers stated that the talk show host lost access to her accounts after Wells Fargo financial adviser Lori Schiller claimed Williams was unsound. Despite Williams firing Schiller and alleging improper conduct, Wells Fargo continued to deny her access to financial assets and statements, even as bills were due.
Wells Fargo responded, citing increasing regulatory concerns about possible client exploitation. They froze Williams’ accounts due to their belief that she was a victim of undue influence and financial exploitation. The financial adviser, with an unblemished record over a 23-year career, noted signs of exploitation, including Williams’ own apprehensions.

Wells Fargo emphasized prioritizing Williams’ financial well-being and privacy, expressing openness to working with her counsel to release funds directly to creditors for historically paid bills.
“Wells Fargo’s priority is the financial well-being of Ms. Williams and the preservation of her privacy,” the company said in a statement. “As we have expressed to the Court, Wells Fargo is open to working with Ms. Williams’ counsel to release funds directly to her creditors for bills historically and regularly paid from her accounts.”
Where is Wendy Willaims?, which is Lifetime’s portrayal of the former talk show host and renowned media personality, will be aired in two parts on February 24 and 25. We will have to wait and see how the documentary will be received by fans.
