In the history of Shonen Jump, there have always been different titles that have defined a generation. Well, the 2010s were firmly defined by Shonen series likeMy Hero AcademiaandDemon Slayer, with Yuki Tabata’sBlack Cloverbeing a dark horse, which showcased glimpses of immense potential.

However, after the lackluster ending with Kohei Horikoshi’sMHAand the recently concludedJujutsu Kaisenhave put Tabata-Sensei’s work in the limelight, that might prove how perfect the series is. The mangaka has featured an immersive world with a long list of characters that have emotionally resonated with the viewers of the series.
Though everything about the show is an absolute 10 out of 10, fans have one major complaint following a major character. For a major moment in the series, Nozel and Noelle Silva had a turbulent relationship, until it was not. Hence, making them question the point of having the harsh treatment of her sister.

Yuki Tabata’s Idea of Ending Noelle’s Heel Moment Backfired
For the longest time, everyone believed that inYuki Tabata’smagnum opus, Nozel Silva detested his younger sister Noelle Silva because he held her guilty about how his mother died after giving birth to her because of a curse. Hence, he always had a cold shoulder towards her.
The siblings were royalty and belonged to the royal house of Silva in the Clover Kingdom. At first glance, the treatment of Noelle was nothing short of harsh, where he treated her with indifference, constantly criticizing her actions with sharp words. Hence, their presence often led to an air of hostility, leaving everyone wondering how a brother could act so coldly towards her own sibling.

The captain of the Silver Eagle would always criticize her inability to control her magic, making her believe that her very existence is nothing but a disgrace to the royal house. However, as the plot progresses, Nozel’s perspective on her sister starts to change, until it is unveiled that he always cared for her, and his harsh treatment was just love and affection in disguise.
This turbulent relationship, where the two have been aloof for several years, was something that the fans loved to watch in the anime. However, that was not the downside of the family drama because the cold relationship was soon emitting the warmth of sibling affection, which dented the popularity of the series.

This notion was hated by the fans, as everyone in the community had a similar opinion, especially because despite all the hate coming towards her by Nozel and her other brothers, she was always responding to them way too optimistically, which looked superficial in some sense.

Even thoughYuki Tabatacarefully penned down the emotionally stirring relationship between the Silva siblings, he did not give it proper depth, leading to an awkward end to his heel moment, which was deeply detested by the community.
This resonated when, in aRedditpost, a fan asked about their relationship dynamics and did not hesitate to criticize the manga artist for his lack of vision. They commented,

Nevertheless, it is still heartwarming to see the two share sweet moments in the series, but more importantly, both have each other’s backs on the battlefield.
