Vince McMahon’s resignation as the executive chairman of TKO Group, the parent company of WWE, marks the first time in decades that a non-blood member of the McMahon family does not hold executive powers in the wrestling promotion. Interestingly enough, his resignation might just bring about TNA and WWE working together – which would be a nightmare of his.

The announcement of McMahon’s departure became public after a lawsuit was filed by Janel Grant, a former employee, accusing the media mogul of sexual assault and trafficking. McMahon had previously stepped down as chairman and CEO of WWE in 2022 during an investigation into allegations of hush-money payments made by him to former workers who accused him of sexual misconduct.

Vince McMahon Was Never A Fan Of TNA Wrestling
In an interview withAcorn-Online,Vince McMahondismissed TNA’s attempt to compete with WWE back in 2010, stating that they are in different industries. He emphasized WWE’s presence in the entertainment business, contrasting it with TNA’s focus on “pro wrasslin‘.”
McMahon commented on TNA’s move to Monday nights, highlighting that despite signing big stars and adopting more adult-themed programming, they still fell significantly short of WWE’s audience. He criticized TNA’s approach, describing it as “tawdry, blood-soaked action” and suggested it doesn’t align with the preferences of the contemporary culture.

While speaking toBleacher Report, Vince McMahon also made it clear he simply never considered TNA as competition whatsoever, adding how TV-14 for TNA was detrimental.
“My concern with TNA is not in terms of competition. My concern with TNA is that they are TV-14, and we are PG. They have to change with the times. I think some of the things they do on television are reprehensible, but it is a TV-14 rating. That’s the only bone I have to pick with them. Their TV ratings are a fraction of ours.”

Vince McMahon never failed to make it clear he never liked what TNA stood for and many fans felt he should have simply worked with TNA back in the day, but he never did.
