In this month’s SegaNama steam, Toshihiro Nagoshi shared a brief development update on the upcoming PS4Yakuzagame, tentatively namedShin Ryu Ga Gotoku.

Nagoshi mentioned the development is going smoothly and how it’s a very fun game to develop because of all the fun situations possible thanks to Kasuga Ichiban being the protagonist. While Kiryu did laugh or cry at times, Kasuga shows much more of his emotions all the time, so it brings forth a lot of fun elements.

Sega also officially announced a press conference on August 29 which will reveal more onShin Ryu Ga Gotoku. This isn’t surprising news asNagoshi already stated at the end of the actress auditionthat more “detailed” information would be coming on August 29.

Nagoshi also shortly spoke aboutShin Sakura Taisen, and how he’s supposed to appear on the game’snext stream to reveal the battle system.Funnily enough, he wasn’t sure himself if his appearance on stream was scheduled or not. He mentioned how he’s been helming and pushing the game’s development from the start in the shadows, and didn’t want to publicly show up like that, but it’s too late now.

While slightly unrelated, it’s also worth noting that Toshihiro Nagoshi and SegaNama MC Ayana Tsubaki also spoke this month about the Kyoani tragedy and other serious subjects, such as: the pressure faced by developers or artists in general after releasing a hit, YouTube, social media and people trolling or propagating rumors for views and money, or haters. I’d rather not summarize the discussion, as the best way to properly convey their thoughts would be to directly translate everything, but I sadly don’t have the time for that. If you understand Japanese I definitely recommend watching the beginning of the stream, and the “Ask Nagoshi anything live” corner at 1:06:40.
