Netflix’s casting of Sofía Vergara inGriseldaseems to be a hammer on the nail as the actor looks promising with her character. Vergara plays the titular character Griselda Blanco in the Netflix show, but the role had a set of challenges.
While appearing in a recent episode ofThe Kelly Clarkson Show, the actor pointed out the intense make-up to change her facial features to resemble Griselda. And for Vergara, it was a pain she had to endure for the role.

Sofia Vergara Discussed Her Striking Similarities With Griselda
Sofia Vergararevealed her journey to play a cocaine lord.“It was a very difficult story for me to understand because it’s a woman,”Vergara said of her role appearing inThe Kelly Clarkson Show.
“Yes, you know, I feel like women always are, we’re protecting, like, you know, surviving.But I did understand her because I was a woman, I was Colombian, I was a single mother like her. I mean, she escaped abuse when she was young. I haven’t, but, I mean, there was a lot of similarities and I’ve raised a kid on my own, I’m an immigrant, she was an immigrant. So there were a lot of similarities. The thing is that she went, I want to say, like she lost her mind and did things in that business that were, like, ruthless. And she ended, not in a good way.”
But underneath, there was a lot more to give for the role than just to understand the character. TheChefactor candidly acknowledged the transformation, which was never easy. The actor appeared in several roles in her career, but this role was remonstrated with her prowess as an actor.

Sofia Vergara Revealed Her Intense Transformation For Netflix Role
Vergara had to undergo an intense makeup process behind the scenes to play the cocaine lord in the Netflix show,Griselda. When hostKelly Clarksonasked about the nose job in the makeup, Vergara responded with comedic rage.“I feel like they only changed your nose or something,”Clarkson said, adding,“I don’t know what they did… The slight change completely changed your being.”Vergara responded,“No Kelly, it was hours.”The actor then asked Clarkson to shut up, “It was a wig! Shut up.”
“It was a lot! They did a lot to me. It was teeth, it was wig, it was nose. Plastic from here to here!”

The host then clarified that her role was seamless and looked perfect.
“I’m saying is they did such a good job that it looked seamless and you just looked like a different,”Clarkson said.“Like you literally look like you could actually just be this person in other movies. You could have two careers.”
Vergara responded, saying, “Like, she looks real, right?”That’s exactly“what I wanted, that reaction. And I love that you thought that it was just a little thing.”Further, the 51-year-old had to change the way she walked, had to learn to smoke like Griselda, and did fake cocaine.Griseldais currently streaming on Netflix.
