In his latest tweet, Ruffalo shared a report about America’s largest companies committing tax evasion scams. He shared that while the general public blames each other for matters such as economic, health, education, and social inequalities, these greedy companies are benefiting from shifting the blame.

The report shared by Ruffalo comes from the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy, which finds that America’s largest companies dodged nearly $300 billion in federal corporate income taxes from 2018 to 2022. It is not the first time Ruffalo has taken to X against the rich and the powerful.

Ruffalo was not only angry with the“greedy companies”, but he also criticized the general public for ignoring this factor eating away at their scarce resources. In his tweet, Ruffalo shared that these greedy companies make Americans constantly blame each other for the economic, health, education, and social inequalities and scarcity issues. Ruffalo suggests that this tactic of the companies makes sure that the public doesn’t aim their rage at them.
Ruffalo shared that the fights over social inequalities and scarce resources are diverting attention away from the real culprits — the companies making record profits. According to the report, all 342 companies examined were profitable in the five years covered by the report. However, 109 of these companies paid zero federal income taxes and even scored $14.34 billion in federal tax rebates.
