“Remember, magic is Chaos, Art, and Science. It is a curse, a blessing, and progress. It all depends on who uses magic, how they use it, and to what purpose. And magic is everywhere. All around us. Easily accessible.” - Yennefer,Blood of Elves
Magic is such an integral part of the world and gameplay ofThe Witcherseries. With powerful sorceresses like the incomparable Yennefer of Vengerberg and the fiery Triss Marigold, magic adds an enchanting layer to these powerful characters that make them some of the most memorable characters from the franchise.
It’s no wonder, then, why cosplayers have taken so much to characters like Yennefer. Her sassy dialogue and strong attitude balance out Geralt’s more mellow personality, winning his heart and the fans'.
However, have you ever wondered what Yennefer would look like as a more traditional Halloween-style witch? Well, look no further thanCanadian cosplayer Carley (@carleybombshell). Taking inspiration from classic Halloween witch silhouettes to add to Yennefer’s glamour, Carley’s Yennefer Halloween Witch cosplay is truly magical.
THE WITCHER 3: YENNEFER HALLOWEEN WITCH COSPLAY
Carley is no stranger toThe Witchercosplays, having made aclassic Yennefercosplay,an armored Ciri costume, anda forest-themed Triss cosplay. Her work is incredibly detailed and refined, as she included all the little details that really bring a character to life.
This time, Carley stayed true to Yennefer’s darker palette but went for a more ballgown-esque look. Complete with a pointed witch’s hat, crow familiar, and mystical purple smoke, she looks every bit the classic Halloween witch.
Additionally, Carley states on Reddit that the look was mostly pulled together with thrift store items that she then modified for Yennefer-specific details. The corseted top is certainly reminiscent of Yennefer’s usually cinched outfits, and the glittery black details add just enough Halloween flair. Surprisingly, Carley looks strikingly similar to Netflix’s Yennefer, played by Anya Chalotra.
Rather than the black furs and feathers typically on Yennefer’s shoulders, Carley opted for the mermaid-style floof of tulle. It’s obvious she took care to add in elements from the character’s original design, while still crafting something exciting and new - and festive for October. Even further, she included the iconic Yennefer choker necklace, further accessorized with lacy black witch gloves.
Moreover,Richard at RMB Photographytook the witchy photos, bringing the final look altogether. Overall, the effect is simply stunning, and would surely turn heads at any Halloween event.
All in all, if you can check out more of Carley’s beautiful cosplays, look toher Instagramor ther/witcher subreddit. But, for those wanting to meet the sorceress herself,The Witcher3 is available to play on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
