The Witcher 3: Wild Huntreleased a little over five years ago and it’s a testament to how good that game is considering that we are still talking about it today. Based onThe Witcherseries of fantasy novels by Andrzej Sapkowski,Wild Huntcaptivated players in its rich narrative, complex characters, and stunning environments. Many players, including myself, loved walking through the different villages and mountains, listening to townsfolk chat about the goings-on within their lives, so much so that it felt like you were there for real. With the help of a treadmill and a 21" screen, you can actually take it one step further and take a walk through the beautiful countryside of Toussaint as Reddit userpird_berson22has recreated for us.
If you have playedThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Blood and WineDLC then you will know how incredibly charming the area of Toussaint is. Famous for its wines, enabled by the region’s volcanic soil and an ideal combination of sunny and rainy days, Toussaint is rich with green pasters, valleys of flowers and running streams, enclosed by the gorgeous Amell, Tir Tochair and Fiery Mountains. Unfortunately,The Witcher 3can’t be experienced with VR just yet other than by modding the game which there are a few mods out for but until we get an official VR mode for it, walking on your treadmill with a screen in front of you may just have to cut it for now.
My treadmill allows me to walk through Toussaint, with matching incline and speed.fromr/witcher
As you can see from the video,pird_berson22has recreated strolling around in Toussaint by firstly recording some playtime in the game and then by using the treadmill’s built-in program, they pull an XML file where different inclines are stamped at the corresponding distances, and the camera speed is tied to the speed you have the treadmill set at. You can also change the speed yourself and it will change the speed of the camera through the scene to match. pirf_berson22 states thatGTA V, Elder Scrolls Online, Skyrim, andFallout 3are also available. Although, if you are thinking of getting one of these specific treadmills used in the video, you may want to look at something a lot cheaper. Apparently the poster uses a Woodway 4front which can cost up to $15k. For that price, you could just book yourself a trip to France and walk around all day there while drinking as much wine as you can manage.
Joking aside, it’s a great idea to keep yourself fit during these weird times and also exploreThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Blood and WineDLC if you haven’t done so already. It’s a fantastic add-on to the already brilliant base game and personally speaking, just as good.
