Amidst the console war between PlayStation and Xbox, PC has always been a true champion in every sense. Be it their massive capacity to run games on way higher quality than consoles or their easy upgradability, PCs are more comprehensive when it comes to high-end gaming.

On the other hand, PCs are actually more versatile systems where you may run many other tasks besides gaming. However, in today’s world, building a gaming rig puts heavy pressure on your pocket. Amidst all the debates, the PlayStation CEO is here to preach his verdict.

PlayStation CEO Hideaki Nishino Puts PS5 Ahead of PC and Mobile

In the long-standing battle of PCs and consoles, there has been a huge debate on which one is better. It’s pretty hard to find a definite answer, as everyone has their own preferences and relative logic. But the CEO of Sony Interactive’s Platform Business Group, Hideaki Nishino, didn’t hesitate to reveal his winner in this battle (viaNikkei, translated onResetEra):

I think that many mobile games have ads, and PCs are difficult to set up. With PS, you can play the content you purchased as soon as you turn it on. The products are clearly displayed in the stores where you buy software, so it’s an intuitive experience.

He also talked about the problems with mobile games. The kind of continuous ads it shows are quite irritating and can disrupt the whole gameplay. On the other hand, mobile phones are yet to reach the level of PCs and consoles, both in terms of quality and quantity.

Nishino is also correct in another perspective when he said PCs are difficult to set up, but a PS is way more handy and is kind of a plug-and-play system. However, there are strong laptops available these days that are more than capable of running modern-age AAA titles.

So, his argument can be countered. Both PS5 and PC will be plugged in, and once set up, PC is a superior choice when it comes to gaming at higher resolution and framerates. It seems the CEO too, isfollowing the path of controversy, just like one of his colleagues.

Fans Haven’t Taken the Statement Lightly

What Nishino wanted to state might be about the portability and accessibility of both systems. However, according to his logic, PCs are easily accessible as well because of their various stores like Epic Games or Steam. Hence, fans didn’t like the words from the CEO of the long-hailed console company at all.

This fan has a great sarcastic reply to the CEO’s statement.

He’s calling PlayStation only gamers… Too dumb to open Steam, view Library tab & press the green “Play” button on the game you want…😧

Another fan clearly explained why a PC is better for gaming than a PS.

PC is more flexible than console.. or any fixed hardware that can’t be upgraded over time. Technology comes to PCs before consoles. PC offers more unique games and not stuck behind a paywall like Gamepass or PSN for on line gaming. PlayStation Games have more features than…

Now, this fan mocked Nishino’s comment about PCs being difficult to set up.

“PCs are difficult to set up” LOL reeeeally trying with this one. bro I tap my keyboard and I’m in game in less than 30 seconds😂And I don’t have to deal with the terrible charge life of a dualsense. “convenience” isn’t a selling point at all here if you have a functional PCpic.twitter.com/KN2Hqzv1KI

As per one fan, a fisherman will never say his fish stinks.

“PC is more convenient than PS5, says PC CEO” xD Cmon guys what else could PS5 CEO say.?! ;D

This fan too has got some valid reasons to choose PC over PS5.

don’t care, you’ll never be able to play on a modded gta 5 rp server on ps5. you’ll never be able to emulate n64 games on your ps5. you’ll never be able to play most mmorpg’s on your ps5.

Frankly speaking, comparing any of the gaming systems is kind of baseless, as people buy their systems according to their needs. If someone wants convenience, he will go for a console.

On the other hand, if someone wants to game on 4K resolution with constant 60+ FPS, then he will definitely go for a PC. And the interesting part is that the vice versa is true as well. However, being a CEO and blatantly marking his own product wasn’t a good decision by Nishino.
