Demon’s Soulsreceived the remake treatment for the PlayStation 5 and it was a successful launch title. Bluepoint Studio faithfully remade the iconic Soulslike and took full advantage of the PlayStation 5 hardware. Sony Interactive Entertainment recently unveiled the official first look of the Pro model after months of leaks, rumors, and speculations. The gaming community expected some first-party titles to get a massive upgrade and this remake is the first of many to receive an enhanced Pro version.

Fans will likely replay the game on the Pro model; however, some players believe another Soulslike game deserves this treatment more. FromSoftware developed countless games in the past few years and one stood out for the gaming community.
Another Soulslike Game Deserves the PlayStation 5 Pro Enhanced Treatment More ThanDemon’s Souls
The gaming community is not entirely convinced about the massive leaps between the base and slim PlayStation 5 models to the PS5 Pro. Mark Cerny officially revealed the highly-anticipated console in a brief 9-minute presentation where he spoke about the new advancements in the hardware and how a few select first-party titles would benefit from these improvements. In the short demo, Cerny showcased the differences betweenThe Last of Us Part 2 Remasteredrunning on Fidelity mode on the base PS5 compared to the Pro and fanssee little to no differenceunless they squint and pixel peep each frame.
Sony Interactive Entertainment acquired Bluepoint Games, the studio is renowned for handling remasters and remakes flawlessly like theUncharted: Nathan Drake Collectionfor the PlayStation 4 and theShadow of the Colossusremake. Sony entrusted theDemon’s Soulsremake project to the developers and it received universal praise from the gaming community and critics alike.

It would make sense for Sony to prioritize the remake project; however, some fans would like to seeBloodborneget the same treatment. FromSoftware collaborated with PlayStation for the 2015 Soulslike and it became the gold standard for the genre; unfortunately, director Hidetaka Miyazaki couldn’t do more content related to the game like spinoffs or a sequel, not even a remaster because of Sony.

If recent reports were to be believed, rumors suggest a newBloodborneprojectis in active developmentbut it remains unclear whether it is a remaster for the PS5 Pro or a sequel. Miyazaki holds this project with high regard because he was able toimpart many of his original ideas into the gamewhich became the groundwork for a great Soulslike game.
A Remastered Version ofBloodborneWould Look Beautiful on the PlayStation 5 Pro
The steep price tag of the PS5 Pro has put most players on the fence about grabbing this console and Sony did an awful job to promote this new hardware by showcasing games that already looked stunning on the base model. Games likeBloodborne could have convinced players to invest and future-proofthemselves until the next console generation.
“We feel like we caused a great inconvenience to Sony”: Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Regrets Include 1 ‘Nod’ that Sent Everyone ‘a little crazy’
Despite being released nearly a decade ago, the 2015 Soulslike title stood well against time. Sony could have easily convinced millions of players to line up for the Pro model if they were to feature games the fans have been clamoring for years.
Soulslike projects would have never been successful without Miyazaki’s contributions.Demon’s Soulswas a remake of the original game released in 2009 and it was directed by Miyazaki which gave the director the thought of going for something more ambitious a few years later.

FromSoftware fans are still stuck on the native PlayStation 4 version of Bloodborne which is starting to show its age. Preserving this iconic Soulslike title by remastering it for the next generation is one way to allow players to dive back and experience it the best way possible.
