The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Powerseason 2, episode 7, marks the halfway point of a spectacular three-episode run. This group of episodes depicts the Siege of Eregion. I believe it is a monumental achievement in fantasy series television.

To Sauron’s dismay, the episode of The Rings of Power begins with still failing to forge the nine rings. Also, the Orcs damn the river, cutting off reinforcements for Eregion, who are now under siege from Adar.

Prime Video’sThe Lord of the Rings: The Rings of PowerSeason 2 Episode 7: How Does Lord Celebrimdor Break Annatar’s Hold Over His Mind?

Lord Celebrimbor’s anger breaks Annatar’s (Charlie Vickers) spell as he throws a small hammer at Sauron, who dodges it, crashing through the plate glass window. Celebrimbor hears the sounds of war outside and sees the entire valley full of fire and chaos.

Right before this, Celebrimbor notices peculiar details, like a mouse picking up the same small red stone, how the wicks on the candles never go down after burning all night, the embers in the fire never going out, and the flames being cold.

After the illusion disappears, Celebrimbor sees that his workspace is messy, his face is dirty, and he knows he has been had.

How Does Annatar Cause Lord Celebrimdor to Kill Mirdania?

After Celebrimbor tries to expose Annatar as Sauron, with a flick of his wrist, Annatar causes him to push the lovely Mirdania over the edge of Eregion’s walls, where the Orcs kill her. Moments before this, looking like a madman, Celebrimbor tries to explain to her how Annatar has fooled them all.

However, Mirdania and the men do not believe their lord. They think he has been hiding behind the protective walls, giving orders that “will end them all.” He challenges them to cut Annatar open, claiming that his blood is black, which would prove his accusation.

How Does Rian Die?

Rian, who excels as one of the Elves’ best markswomen with a bow and arrows, is ironically killed by a half-dozen arrows. Some background from The Lord of the Rings: Rian is the daughter of Belegund of the House of Bëor, whose husband is Huor of the House of Hador—also, the mother of Tuor.

The warrior known for her gentle heart, lover of the environment, and musician died saving Eregion. Elrond asks her to follow him. However, that’s when the Orcs shoot her. Showing incredible strength, she pulls one out of her back, lights it, and sends a lit arrow to an Orc barrel of oil, which explodes.

However, that is when Rian is given the fatal blow, another arrow into her chest.

Why Does Elrond Kiss Galadriel?

I mean, why else does a man kiss a woman? Clearly, the tension beforehand was sexual, as Elrond (Robert Aramayo) and Galadriel are in love. Or, it’s the fact that, for a split second, you can see he slips something into her hand. Later, it’s revealed to be a tool to unlock her shackles. During a meeting with Adar, he demands Galadriel’s ring, Nenya.

Adar will now trade it for Galadriel’s (Morfydd Clark) life. However, Elrond tells Adar that if he wants Nenya, he must take it from him on the battlefield with a blade to his neck. Before leaving, Elrond tells Galadriel, “Forgive me.” She responds, “Win.” That’s when they kiss.

Why Do the Dwarves Abandon the Fight at Eregion?

Prince Durin IV (Owain Arthur) abandons the fight at Eregion to defend Khazad-dûm. His father cut through his men like stocks of wheat. Disi tells her husband that their kingdom may not be there if they leave with the army because the King wants to unleash the Balrog.

We know that when Elrond sent one of his men, the gate at Khazad-dûm was shut. Elrond cannot believe it, telling High King Gil-galad (Benjamin Walker) that Durin will come. Earlier, Elrond visited Durin, asking for his axe one last time. The reason is that the Orcs outnumber the Elves 10:1.

How Do the Orcs Break Down Ergion’s Wall?

TheOrcs, led by Adar, tear down the wall by installing hooks and pulling it down with chains. The Orcs also use a battering ram called “Grond,” known as “The Hammer of the Underworld.” The Borc appears, using it to ram against Eregion’s wall.

However, Elrond cuts a rope, sending the catapult into the Borc’s torso. Then, Arindû (Ismael Cruz Córdova) leaps onto the beast, stabbing it with his arrows and knife. When the Borc falls onto its back, Elrond and the arriving High King Gil-galad finish it with their swords until it goes silent.

Prime Video’sThe Lord of the Rings: The Rings of PowerSeason 2 Episode 7 Ending Explained: Who Does Adar Stab in the Battle?

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Powerpenultimate episode ends with Adar stabbing Arindû twice, once in the chest. The second was a knife wound to the abdomen that sent Arindû to the ground. While on all fours, Adar kicks him in the face, knocking him to the ground.

Is Arindû dead? It certainly seems like this may be the first significant death inThe Rings of Powersince we see him stabbed twice.

What Does Adar Take From Elrond?

Adar takes Galadriel’s ring, Nenya, on the battlefield. Elrond kneels in shock, watching his men die at the hands of Orcs and the wall of Eregion fall. Adar walks up to him, calling him Rúmil, which is confusing since this is not a generic name but rather the name of the Elf of Lórien.

“Never make war in anger,” Adar tells Elrond after picking him up by the neck, holding his blade against it, and tossing him to the ground. We then see Adar holding the ring up to his face; immediately after, Elrond loses consciousness.
