There’s no doubt about it,The Legend of Zeldafranchise has been a huge hit for Nintendo. After making its debut in Japan back in 1986 on the Famicom Disk System,The Legend of Zeldacontinues to delight fans to this current day on the Nintendo Switch with the highly successfulBreath of the Wild. According toThe NPD Group’s Mat Piscatella,Breath of the Wildhas been on the top ten list every single month since its March 2017 release, which is 42 consecutive months where it has never charted lower than 7th. While Link may be the main protagonist ofTheLegend of Zeldaseries, Gerudo chieftain Urbosa is truly a worthy container for the fan-favorite, especially so when the cosplay is as fabulous asbrown.suga.outlaw’s.

Urbosa, or otherwise known as Lady Urbosa, Gerudo Champion of Hyrule or Chief of the Gerudo fromThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, was the Gerudo Chieftain of her people, governing from Gerudo Town. She was close friends with the Queen of Hyrule, Zelda’s mother, before her death and took on a motherly role to her daughter. When King Rhoam and Princess Zelda called upon the Gerudo for aid in the coming battle against Calamity Ganon, Urbosa offered her sword immediately and agreed to become the Gerudo Champion, and pilot, of the Divine Beast Vah Naboris.

Award-winning cosplayer and actorBrown.suga.outlaw(also known asCree Michelle Rogers) comes in with her incredible looking attempt at the fierce and strong Urbosa. As you can see from Brown Suga’s attire, she has brilliantly matched Urbosa’s vibrant and fiery red hair which she keeps tied up in a high ponytail. You can also see from one of Cree’s close up images of her face that she has Urbosa’s bright green eyes, just like Riju, another character fromThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildwho is a descendant of the royal line of Gerudo Chieftains. Paying close attention to Cree’s flamboyant color scheme that she has going on we see a finely designed breastplate, two shoulder guards, an intricate gold belt, and a blue scarf she uses as a skirt, given to her as a symbol of her role as a Champion of Hyrule. She also wears several gold rings on her fingers and has painted her nails and lips blue, matching the color of her skirt perfectly.

We feature many cosplayers here on DualShockers and this certainly is up there with the best of them. I also love how real Cree’s Scimitar of the Seven sword and The Daybreaker shield looks even though it is made from foam, the designer has obviously gone to a lot of trouble to make it as precise as possible. Cree stated that her wig was initially a little bothersome and said that she “almost gave up because Urbosa’s wig looked like a Vultures nest for a hot second, but thanks to my Walmart steamer and two cans of spray paint, the wig turned out better than I thought it would!”. We think it looks perfect and a huge congratulations to her on this amazing Urbosa cosplay.
