What a crazy 24 hours it has been forThe Last of Us Part 2fans, right? Most of us have been dodging those horribleTLOU2leaks(no actual leaks are included in that link) circulating social media and trying to stay away from places like Twitter to then have our emotions uplifted whenSony announcedyesterday thatThe Last of Us Part 2would finally be heading our way on June 04, 2025. I think it’s safe to say that fans could definitely use a little break from the chaos so, in light of that, Reddit userApeinatorhas recreated Ellie’s incredible melee animations taken from the E3’s 2018The Last of Us Part 2gameplay reveal trailer and reenacted them inDreams.

Media Molecule’sDreamsis a wonderful place for those with a creative flair where tools to sculpt and paint are at your fingertips. Using the game’s mechanics, players can craft whatever their imagination allows them to do, the sky is pretty much the limit there. Recently we’ve seen another fellow Reddit user sculpt a wonderfullyhorrific ClickerfromThe Last of Uswho used a selection of shapes with different blend settings to create the Cordyceps riddled model. This time, however,Youtube creatorand Reddit user Apeinator has taken the animations seen inThe Last of Us Part 2gameplay trailerand incorporated them intoDreams, creating models that move just like Ellie and the Seraphites as they engage in an intense battle.

Apeinator has quite clearly studied the gameplay trailer’s every detail as we can see in their video below. Each melee move seen by Ellie is mirrored in theirDreamscreation and I’m still at a loss on how it’s done. My favorite part of the recreation is right at the end when the model based on Ellie swings back her hammer in slow motion and plants it firmly into the enemy’s skull with some cool blood splatter. It may not hold the same dramatic tension as seen in the actual trailer but I think it’s fair to say that it’s incredibly well done and shows the sheer about of talent floating around inDreams.

While we are on the subject ofDreamsprojects, check out this ultraphotorealistic projectcreated entirely on a base PlayStation 4 by BadRobo82, creating all of the assets themselves and everything in full 3D – it really is very impressive. You’ve no doubt heard aboutSony removing Mariofrom Dreams because Nintendo wasn’t too happy about their character being used for that purpose and then issuing a copyright strike. It just goes to show that even in a place where anything can be crafted, it doesn’t necessarily mean it should. Hell, we even saw a 10 years old fan of the game who, in between doing his homework, has begun working onDreams2 while inDreams.

As with any game, please do be respectful and mindful of those who wish to not be spoiled by game leaks. No matter what your opinion is on why they were leaked in the first place, years of hard work from the devs and years of patiently waiting by players is paramount right now. Don’t bethatperson.

The Last of Us Part IIwill now be launching on PS4 around the world on July 31, 2025.
