In a recent video shared by the game capture artist “VoyagersRevenge” on YouTube, we got a first look at an in-progress first-person mod for the PC version ofThe Last of Us Part 1, and surprisingly enough, it looks quite polished.
Unfortunately, there is no information on when this mod will be ready to release, and what changes it aims to deliver to the game, but looking at the gameplay trailer, it looks quite impressive, as the first-person camera fits perfectly with the character animations. Although Joel’s gun looks a bit misplaced in some scenes, it still looks much better than what we could have probably imagined for a first-person mod only a few weeks after the official release.

As much as this gameplay trailer looks polished and detailed, The Last of Us Part 1 is still dealing with serious issues on PC. The game launched with an unexpected load of technical issues that made it almost unplayable. Fans who were frustrated by Naughty Dog’s poorly optimized release began to submit negative reviews, which saw the game featuring a “Mostly Negative” review badge on Steam only a few days after release.
Since then, Naughty Dog has released two patches on PC, fixing some of the major issues. However, there is still work to be done to finish the job and deliver the experience that was promised in the pre-launch trailers. Of course, Naughty Dog is not the only studio to be blamed for the game’s poor performance, as the port comes fromIron Galaxy Studios, the same team that developed the infamousBatman: Arkham Knight’s PC port.
Aside from the in-progress first-person mod, we can probably expect more creative mods to be released further down the road for The Last of Us Part 1, as it was one of the highly anticipated games for PC players that was exclusive toPlayStationfor a long time. However, it is quite important to see howSonyreacts to the PC mods, though the company has not expressed negative sentiment for existing mods forMarvel’s Spider-Man RemasteredandGod of War.
