Barbiestar and the the internet’s darling, Ryan Gosling, along with his arch-nemesis of the box office,Oppenheimerstar Emily Blunt, joined forces to bring a new flavor to the theaters recently with their latest flickThe Fall Guy.Yet, to everyone’s disappointment, the audience failed to embrace it. Despite its ingenuity, the film fell short and is now aiming to end its theatrical run, barely scraping above its production costs.

This setback left Gosling disheartened once more, reminiscent of the time whenThe Nice Guystook a similar plunge eight years ago. Seems like audiences just don’t appreciate good cinema anymore!

The Fall GuyBox Office Collections Are Criminally Low!

In early May,Ryan GoslingandEmily Blunthand in hand brought abreath of fresh airto cinemas with their latest movie,The Fall Guy.Since its premiere, the early reactions and reviews have been nothing short of exceptional.

“It was actually something I debated”: The Fall Guy Writer Almost Did the Unthinkable With Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible That Would Have Made Fans Hate Him Forever

However, when the movie hit theaters for everyone else,it fell flat. Now, with just $30 million in profit against a $140 million budget, it’s aiming for $160-180 million in total box office sales. Considering the A-list cast and the gripping storyline, it is criminally low, to say the least!

Fans who caught the film in theaters and absolutely loved it are now shedding tears. They’re convinced the movie doesn’t deserve this fate. Here’s what they’re saying about the whole situation,

Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling in The Nice Guys

It was a good movie! Its so dumb how short movies stay in theaters now!

The movie follows one Colt Seavers played by none other than Ryan Gosling and his relationship with Jody Moreno played by Emily Blunt. Colt, who is an ex-stuntman who stopped due to a near-fatal injury, has to jump back into action when the lead actor of a major studio film vanishes out of the blue. But as the mystery unfolds, Colt gets caught in a dark scheme, and the storyline keeps the audience’s attention gripped for every second. It was indeed a fun summer watch!

While plenty are disappointed in the general public for not showing the love the movie deserves, many also argue that it deserved a longer run in theaters. A meretwo-week stintjust doesn’t cut it. Meanwhile, others couldn’t help but draw parallels toThe Nice Guys, another Ryan Gosling movie that suffered a similar fate years ago.

The Nice GuysSuffered the Same Fate asThe Fall Guy8 Years Ago!

In 2016, Ryan Gosling teamed up with Russell Crowe for a movie that really pushed his boundaries and stretched his acting chops. But alas, despite their comedic chemistry inThe Nice Guys, audiences didn’t seem to fully appreciate their efforts.

The film follows the misadventures of a bumbling private eye and a contract killer as they stumble through 1977 Los Angeles, chasing down leads, dodging danger, and trying to crack a case involving missing persons and shady dealings in the p*rn and auto industries. It’s a wild ride full of laughs, surprises, and maybe just a touch of chaos.

Despite receiving positive reviews from critics, the film only grossed $62 million against its $50 million budget, a fact that many found baffling and disappointing. It’s truly disheartening to witness a movie that has been praised for its quality and storytelling struggle to capture the attention of the general public.

There’s always a heated debate on social media about the importance of great storytelling and top-notch cinema. Yet, despite everyone championing the need for meaningful narratives, it’s still baffling when a movie that seemingly has it all fails to connect with the audiences.

The Fall Guy is currently playing in theaters, while The Nice Guys is available for rent on Apple TV.
