Ricky Stanicky (2024)
Ricky Stanickyis in post-production and is due for release in March 2024. The comedy movie, directed byDumb and Dumber’sPeter Farrelly, focuses on the eponymous imaginary character whom a trio of friends invented to blame for their inappropriate behavior over twenty years.
John Cena plays a washed-up actor who brings the character to life when the trio’s partners become suspicious of his existence. It sounds like such a funny concept, and Cena should be terrific in the role. The film also starsZac Efron, Jermaine Fowler, Andrew Santino, Lex Scott Davis, andWilliam H. Macy.

The Hollywood Reporterhas described the movie as “Air Force OnemeetsMidnight Run,” which is quite the mix of great films. Cena and Elba are set to lead the cast as a pair of mismatched characters, so there’s a chance it’s following thebuddy comedyformula. Regardless, with all the talent on show, it’s one to look out for, and Cena will undoubtedly hold his ground amongst them.
