Why does Claire get all the hate while Phil is loved by most?
Phil Dunphy is a one-of-a-kind character, who’s unintentionally funny and his antics are always a treat to watch. So, a major reason for the hatred toward Claire is her relationship with Phil, as most fans adore the latter, and it overshadows his shortcomings as a parent.
At times, he unintentionally enables his kids to do wrong things or is even oblivious during important situations. However, his mistakes are easily forgiven because we take him for the absent-minded but adorable and loving father. We can also blame our societal biases, i.e., automatically expecting more from mothers while not holding fathers accountable.
