Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Editionhas a feature in this week’s Famitsu magazine. It includes an interview with Tetsuya Takahashi, who revealed new details on the remaster. Here are some of the details from the interview, summarized byGame’s Talk:
Monolith Soft, while developingXenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, divided its workforce into three teams. to simultaneously work on the remaster and new projects. (One of which is aZeldatitleand most probably theBreath of the Wildsequel.)
Back when the Wii original version released, the staff had some regrets they couldn’t make the characters' graphics better. That’s why they’ve been greatly improved in this remaster.
They’re unable to re-record all the game’s OST with an orchestra, so instead they’re doing new arrangements and increasing the quality of the original recordings. But overall,Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Editionhas better music data compression thanXenoblade 2.
The interview also touches upon the new epilogue,Xenoblade Chronicles Future Connected. As we previously heard, you may play it from the start.
Xenoblade Chronicles Future Connectedtakes around 10 to 12 hours to complete, and takes around 20 hours in total if you do its side content.
Monolith could increaseXenoable DE’s new content even more with DLC. Doing this however would negatively impact the development of their other upcoming game(s).
That’s all.
Xenobladeis regarded as one of the best games on Wii so it’s nice it’s getting this Switch remaster. Now, I think it would be great ifXenoblade Xgot one too. There’s no secret tough, and no miracle. If it’s deemed profitable, it’ll happen. But if Nintendo doesn’t thinkXenoblade Xon Switch will make money, the game will stay stuck on Wii U.
