Miyamoto Takes Fans on a Tour of Super Nintendo World in Latest Direct

Super Nintendo World is set to open at Universal Studios Japan on July 27, 2025, but other locations will be coming at a later date.

The Direct only showed a brief glimpse of the ride, which seemed more about sightseeing than thrill-seeking.

The question that has to be asked is how much of a draw Donkey Kong Country is? A Super Mario-themed theme park is exciting to behold, but Donkey Kong is already closely connected to that universe.

Considering the massive fanbases for both games, prioritizing an area based onThe Legend of ZeldaorAnimal Crossing might have made more sense.

A Pokemon part would be even better, but Nintendo isn’t the sole owner of that IP, so that could cause issues if it were attempted.

The Donkey Kong Country area looks fantastic, but it might not be enough of a draw on its own. Instead, it’s just an added layer to theSuper Nintendo World experience, where Mario is front and center.
