E. Honda is one of the oldest characters in the franchise and a true fan favorite. A lot of his signature moves and way of fighting has also returned along with him.
E.Honda’s Strengths In Combat
One of E. Honda’s biggest strengths is howhard it is to punish him. He is able tofight in a very safe mannerand be able to effortlesslyalternate between a solid defense and strikingfrom it to go on the attack. He is able to seamlesslychange up between his low strikes and his high ones, making him a very overwhelming threat to play against. You will need to make use of this to keep youropponents feeling constantly pressuredduring your fights.
He is not a heavy hitter like Marisa, nor can he decimate large portions of health with a single grapple likeZangief, but hisabove-average damage outputin every area means he doesn’t have any area where he suffers and can adapt to whatever his opponent is trying to accomplish. Furthermore, it lets the player have the option tochange up how they approach the fight, and this will force their opponent to need to do the same, and withno damage falloff from changing things up, this can put his opponents at a disadvantage.

E.Honda’s Weaknesses In Combat
Honda suffers in two vital categories: speed and range. Honda hasslow movementand is evenslower when moving backwards.Hisnormal attacks lack rangeand will need to play at a closer range to be effective.Zoners will be a hard match up, especially if they are able to successfully keep you at bay.
Characters with good poking options, such asKen, will be able to sneak in damage throughout the fight against you, and this can turn into a big problem as the fight goes on. Honda isnot good in a corner, and it is advised to rarely ever move backwards;always attempt to push the offense.

E.Honda’s Best Moves & Strategies
Dealing With Long Range Opponents
Sumo Headbutt and Sumo Dashare your biggest solutions to closing distance. You will need to play defensively and block when needed between advances.
Dealing With Short Range Opponents
Honda is theopposite of a zoner. Just like Luke, hewants to be in the face of his opponent, and whenever you are in mid-range, press the advantage with a Sumo Dash to close it.
Stuck In The Corner
Your strategy for being in the corneragainst a very experienced playeris to fight your best in the corner andcharge up your drive. You willneed to use your drive to effectively get out of the corner, or your opponent is just going to keep putting you back in the corner. Against a less experienced player, Sumo Headbutt and Sumo Dash can help force your way out when they give you an opening.
E.Honda’s Difficulty Curve
E. Honda is notbeginner-friendly. If you want to learn the mechanics and transition into playing Honda, pick up Luke as your first character. This will give you a good sense of closing distance and playing the close-range game.
