Starfieldis full of differentfactionsthat players can join while trying to save the universe. However, there is onefactionthat you have to join, and that faction is Constellation, the last group dedicated to space exploration.

Here’s a list of all the main members of Constellation ranked based on their personalities, usefulness, and backstories.
8Matteo Khatri
Matteo is the theologian of the Constellation group. He believes that you finding the Artifacts proves that there is more to life than what we may originally see. He also thinks that it proves there are other intelligent beings.
What holds Matteo back is that you don’t get to learn a ton about him. He is one of the only members of Constellation that you don’t interact with much, leaving you to wonder about him. There are moments when he feels that the cost of the Artifacts outweighs the benefits.
7Walter Stroud
Walter is the money for Constellation. He is an extremely wealthy individual who owns his own ship company. He and his wife, Issa Eklund, are co-founders of the Stroud Eklund spaceship company.
Walter is an extremely interesting man, and you do get to work with him for a mission on Neon. You learn that he lives on Neon and is well-versed in the dirtier side of the city. He is also an extremely smart business executive.
Barrett is the first Constellation member that you will meet in the game. During the game’s introduction, Barrett will recruit you to the cause. While he is a great character, he is missing for a good part of the opening, making him less vital than others.
Additionally, his backstory isn’t as interesting as others. He is looking to figure out the truth behind his husband’s death over 20 years ago. While this could be an interesting case, it is a rather cut-and-dry case, something that isn’t as interesting.
5Vladimir Sall
Vladimir is an extremely important part of Constellation. He is one of the last members that you will be able to meet in the game. He is the one that is over The Eye, which is an old UC spaceship hovering above New Atlantis.

However, if you spend time to get to know him, you will learn that he is actually a more developed character than some. He was originally part of the Crimson Fleet, and Sarah took a chance on him to give him a better life.
Noel is Constellation’s main scientist. She is the one that is working hard to figure out what is happening with the Artifacts and how you all can figure out the truth behind them. She is the main person working on this project while you search for them in the universe.
Noel is so interesting because she truly has a passion for Constellation and everything you all are doing. She is working hard to figure everything out. Even when others in the group begin to doubt what you’re doing, she stays strong in her beliefs and pushes past that doubt.
Sam is another character you won’t meet until a little later in the game. He is one of the members of Constellation that spends his time roaming the universe. He also has a young daughter named Cora who travels around with him, meaning if he is your crew member, she will be s well.
Sam has a pretty interesting background. Similar to Vladimir, Sam wasn’t always the best person. When he was younger, he trafficked contraband; however, the Freestar Rangers took a chance on him and helped him leave that life. He then joined Constellation and began looking at bettering the universe.
Andreja is, by far, the most intriguing of all the Constellation members. When you first meet her, she is standing over a dead body and doesn’t want to answer any questions. However, the more you get to know her, the more you will find out about this situation. She is the newest member of Constellation (joining when you meet her), so she doesn’t have as much known about her as the others.
However, the closer you get to her, the more you will understand the truth about who she really is. It turns out, she isn’t as good as she appears. Unlike others in the group, she is more on the side of being morally gray (or even arguably evil, depending on how her personal quest goes). Her personal quest is truly a shock, and is something that will pull you in more than any other personal quest will in this group.
1Sarah Morgan
Sarah Morganis Constellation’s leader. While she isn’t more interesting than Andreja, she is well-developed and has a better moral compass than Andreja. She doesn’t believe in doing anything evil (and sometimes even the morally gray options). No matter what happens, Sarah is going to care more about her friends and those in Constellation than she ever will herself, making her a great person.
Sarah’s background is one full of tragedy that very much made her into the woman she is today. She made a few mistakes that cost some people their lives, and she is determined to never make that mistake again. Her desire to keep people safe and to ensure everyone has a chance to atone for their mistakes makes her the best in Constellation. So many members of the group (yourself included) were given a better life because she was willing to go out on a limb.
