The game had a record-breaking opening and is even currently winning in concurrent numbers from some of the other titles by a huge margin. It is the most played game from the Warhammer 40,000 universe ever, with 225,690 peak concurrent players on Valve’s platform. The success has given Saber Interactive the confidence and support to work on its next big idea.

Tim Willits, Chief Creative Officer at Saber Interactive, has confirmed that the success of this game is bound to have positive affects on on its future projects. In fact, one big idea is already in the works that has left people completely confused about whether they should work on a DLC for the current game orturn the idea into a new game altogether.

Our game director Dmitry Grigorenko, he has proposed some story ideas that could either be DLC or a sequel. We’re literally just catching our breath. This is two weeks out.
It is confirmed that a lot of exciting content is in the works for Space Marine 2 just a few weeks following the successful release of the game.
