Possibly one of the biggest surprises of last year was the massive success of Sony’sAstro Bot; a cute platformer that made a lot of waves when it won award after award at various gaming awards shows and publications.
While nothing has been announced in terms of a sequel, the latest comments from PlayStation boss Hermen Hulst all but confirms we’ll be seeing more Astro Bot games in the future.

In arecent video presentation, PlayStation Head of Studio Business Group Hermen Hulst mentioned they want to develop Astro Bot into an enduring and iconic game franchise for PlayStation.
Talking about the game, Hulst calls Astro Bot one of the PlayStation brand’s “most exciting recent success.” Hulst added (viaGenki), “Astro Bot was a smash hit, achieving universal acclaim among players and critics and sweeping award shows.” Astro Bot is listed as an “emerging IP,” which we’re hoping means more Astro Bot games are on the way.

10 Best Games Like Astro Bot
Games like Crash Bandicoot 4 and New Super Lucky’s Tale will fill the Astro Bot-shaped hole in your heart.
It’s refreshing to see a smaller-scale game like Astro Bot succeed in today’s gaming landscape. This proves that not only do AAA games with mature tones like God of War, The Last of Us can succeed, but even a smaller game that doesn’t shoehorn any live service element can do very well too.

Bear in mind, this is still not a confirmation of an Astro Bot sequel, but I would be very, very surprised if one isn’t currently being developed by Team Asobi. In any case, expect more Astro Bot in the future, as Sony’s film divisionis also pushing hardfor a movie adaptation of the lovable bot.
