The solution to this hair-pulling quest is easier than it seems. Forget about destroying the individual pieces and just do whatSega’s greatest herodoes best; go fast.
Starting The Quest
If the ambush by the Towers is what’s stumped you, then you’re already awarethis line of quests starts here, near the top of Ares Island, after collecting some of the Chaos Emeralds. The beginning of the quest has its own difficulty, so a quick answer to it will be discussed for those who either didn’t make it this far either or for those who want to blast through it after quitting and resetting.
After talking to Knuckles, Sonic offers to help him train the Koco he’s starting to become fond of. Like with the Roundup quest you did for Amy on Kronos Island, you just have to walk behind the Koco to get them to move forward. You again have to avoid their bombs, but this time, once a bomb goes off, there will be a smokescreen that hides everything. What makes this smokescreen all the more annoying is that if you try and move forward because you can’t see exactly where Sonic is going or where the Kocos are, you may end up in a scenario where you’ve completely broken up your group. Backtracking to fix these groups will eat away at your time, and there are no tricks to add more time back on.

If you were directly in front of Knuckles before a bomb went off, then it’s worth the risk, as at least most of your Kocos will manage to hand themselves back to Knuckles. If you aren’t, you’re likely best off just standing still until the smoke clears.
Once you hand in all fifteen Koco, then the truly difficult part of this pair of quests begins.

Defeating The Towers
All four Towers show up simultaneously, although that’s not the part that makes players tear their hair out. The Best Defense only gives you one minute to defeat all four of the Towers, and most of Sonic’s attacks will end up taking far too much time to destroy every individual piece of the Towers. That’s the issue, you don’t have to destroy every bit, just the one bit that matters.
When the sides of the Towers are completely flat,Sonic can run up them with the Boost button held. This is true for every variant of the Tower enemy, but the game never outright tells you.If the sides are spiky, then direct contact with the Tower will damage Sonic, so you have to wait until the Tower slams the ground and creates a shockwave of red ground spikes.Just jump over the spikes and head over to the Tower, which for the time being, will be completely safe to run up.

Once you’re at the top of a Tower, jump and stomp. It only takes one hit to kill a Tower at the head during this quest, while the rest of the Tower will take multiple hits per section. Effectively, they appear a lot stronger than they are, making this quest much easier once you understand what you’re supposed to hit.

Extra Tips
As already stated, you cannot run up the Towers while they are spiky. There are times when even though you may’t run up the Tower, Sonic will still be able to attack with a combo.Don’t waste your time with this, it takes a lot of hits to destroy a section this way, and it does nothing to make the Tower safe to climb. You will still need to wait it out. Hang back until the Tower slams the ground and sends a shockwave of spikes.
But, there is a direct attack that seems to help out.Occasionally a Tower will attempt to float away to move to a different location, and while this happens, you’ll have a window to Cyloop the bottom to destroy a section. When it lands, it will usually do the slam attack you’ve been waiting for, but doing a Cyloop does seem to speed the process up. While waiting it out is usually the correct method, the time limit does mean this shortcut to shave a few seconds is highly recommended as well.

Topple all four of the Towers, and you’ll be rewarded withone more Chaos Emeraldfor your collection. The cyan one. You’ll be even closer to ripping that Titan from the sky and finally saving your friends from their cyberspace fates.
