In a stacked lineup of popular anime airing this winter,Solo Leveling Season 2has got fans hooked with its action-heavy narrative. The two episodes so far have given us interesting plot developments to look forward to. From the animation to the subtle changes in the story, fans have been pleased with the anime. As Sung Jinwoo continues to power up, it becomes harder to feel the threat his enemies pose.

Yet, Baruka succeeded in establishing his strength as Jinwoo was visibly displeased after he failed to add him to his shadow army in the latest episode. There was a big plot hole in the episode that sparked curiosity among some fans. Turns out, this ”plothole” can easily be explained, but first, what is this plothole?
This plothole inSolo Leveling Season 2makes fans curious
In thelatest episode ofSolo Leveling Season 2, Sung Jinwoo faced Baruka and his army of Ice Elves. After the Double Dungeon, Baruka was the biggest challenge Jinwoo faced. Even though Baruka was extremely strong, Jinwoo along with Iron and Igris easily defeated him.

However, he failed to extract Baruka’s shadow due to the substantial difference in their strength. This made fans wonder why Jinwoo didn’t add the Ice Elves to his army. A YouTube short byTakai Spotlightexplains this plothole and the problems with it.
The Ice Elves were significantly weaker than Baruka, and if Jinwoo wanted, he could have easily added all of them to his army. The reason behind this wasn’t explained either, making fans think of it as a plothole. However, the fight between Jinwoo and Baruka holds the explanation for this plothole, if it can even be counted as one.

Here’s why Sung Jinwoo chose not to extract the Ice Elves
Theanime has improved many parts of the manhwa, but this can be considered one instance where the anime hasn’t explained the events properly. Sung Jinwoo wanted Baruka to become a part of his army because of his immense strength and potential. The Ice Elves were much weaker in comparison and were easily defeated as well. Moreover, without Baruka, there might have been some problems in leading them.

At this point in the anime, Jinwoo is still in the earlier stages of his leveling-up journey. His potential increases the stronger he gets. For now, there are some limitations as to how many soldiers he can have. Therefore, it doesn’t make sense for him to add ice elves when he knows how weak they are.
The best-case scenario would have been Baruka’s addition to the army. He would have provided a great contrast to Igris and Iron, who have both submitted themselves to Jinwoo.Given how strong and stubborn he was, he would have further added to the light-hearted moments ofSolo Leveling.
