According toThe Hollywood Reporter, one of Bloober Team’s earlier games, The Medium, has had its movie rights secured by Gary Dauberman, the screenwriter of Annabelle, the modern It movies, ‘Salem’s Lot, and Until Dawn. The project is currently in very early stages of development, with no writer or director selected for the project.

What’s The Medium?
The Medium was a horror game with a unique gimmick, as the protagonist, Marianne, is a spirit medium who exists in both the real and supernatural world. Using the modern tech of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, the game featured Marianne solving puzzles and avoiding foes in both worlds simultaneously.
With its haunting world designed by artist Damian Zukowski and a soundtrack partly created bylegendary Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka, The Medium was certainly a great-looking and sounding game. It was hindered by a short runtime and lack of scares, but it’s still worth checking out for horror fans, especially those who enjoy Bloober Team’s other works.

The Medium is a great fit for a movie project, as its gimmick is something that’s easily adapted into film, while its story is short enough to be condensed to a standard movie runtime without losing too much. It’ll take a while before the movie is ready to be released (assuming it passes through development hell), but it has a chance at being better thanmost horror game film adaptations.
