Aside from becoming self-made, Saints Row is all about customization. Whether it’s your weapons, vehicles, or your character, the number of customization options is almost endless. Of course, as this is a Saints Row, there are some pretty whacky vehicles to obtain in the game. But if you’re looking to pimp out your car or motorbike, you first need to save up enough cash, as many of the upgrades cost a hefty amount.
Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to purchase vehicles in Saints Row. Instead, various cars, motorbikes, and more can be obtained from completing various missions and criminal ventures. Players are also able to steal vehicles right off of the street and take them to their garage, this will then store the car, motorbike, or other inside of the personal garage ready for use whenever you like.
There’s also no way to get your vehicle delivered to you when you’re in the middle of nowhere. The only way your vehicle can be obtained is by visiting the Saints HQ or Jimrob’s Garage and retrieving your car or motorbike from there.
How To Upgrade And Customize Vehicles In Saints Row
There are two places in Santo Ileso to upgrade and customize your vehicles, the first is at the Saints HQ. Your base of operations has a designated garage attached on the right hand side of the church, simply navigate towards it and press ‘triangle’ to bring up your cars. The second place to customize vehicles is at Jimrob’s Garage, which can be found just south of the Saints HQ.
Once you’re at either your personal garage or Jimrob’s Garage, access the garage by pressing ‘triangle’. From here a loading screen will appear and a menu will appear with all of your unlocked vehicles. Simply scroll through the vehicles until you find one you would like to upgrade or customize.
Press ‘X’ to select your vehicle of choice, this will then bring up a small drop-down menu with the options:
Of course, if you want to upgrade and customize your vehicle, select the ‘Customize’ option.
After you’ve selected the customize option, you will be taken to another menu. From here you will be able to change the appearance of your vehicle, such as the color, tires, body modifications, and more. Scrolling down the menu, players will be able to select the ‘Upgrade Kit’ option.
Selecting this option will upgrade the overall performance of your vehicle, but will cost you. There are three upgrade options available for vehicles, each costing more and more each time.
