Christopher Nolan is an incredible filmmaker, a brilliant storyteller, an astonishing screenwriter, but a very peculiar gentleman. From his excessive love for Tea to repeating the same two outfits on set, Nolan is in a league of his own, so much so that even hisOppenheimercast members cannot stop teasing him about it.

While speaking to Vanity Fair about their highly praised and dominating-the-award-season film, Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, and Robert Downey Jr. got candid about their time on the set of a Nolan film and why they chose not to have the director, aka their boss, in anOppenheimergroup chat.

Christopher Nolan‘sOppenheimerhas been one of the most spectacular films of current times. As serious as the film’s narrative was, its cast members are just as unserious. Despite having almost a father-like relationship with Nolan and utmost respect for him, it doesn’t stopRobert Downey Jr.,Emily Blunt, andCillian Murphyfrom making fun of their esteemed director.

To regularly communicate, tradetea(the other kind that Nolan is probably not as fond of), and discussstrategies, the three have created anOppenheimergroup chat of all cast members calledOppenHomies. However, Nolan doesn’t have the privilege of being part of such anexplosivegroup because, as Blunt explains,
“He doesn’t have a phone.”

While talking toVanity Fair, the trio also talked about their time on set, debunking and approving the various rumors about Nolan’s sets. No extra chairs, no trailers to retreat, and no phones are rules that no one can break but it is also due to these unconventional protocols that keep the director’s ensemble of cast at the top of their game, all the time.

Although the name might sound something like a 90’s sitcom special,OppenHomiesis not a group to be reckoned with thanks to their dominating Award season spell so far.
Having the likes of RDJ, Emily Blunt, and Cillian Murphy, the news of Christopher Nolan not being a part of the iconic group chat because he doesn’t have a phone was enough to trigger a series of some of the most hilarious and epic fan reactions.

No phone. No chairs. I’m starting to think we need to start a GoFundMe for this dude.

While the name in itself is epic, one can only imagine the conversations they’ll be having in the group chat for everyone knows Downey’s fondness for unique jargon and slang would directly contradict Murphy’s gullible aloofness from the world of social media.
