Having said that, it’s not surprising to hear that today, Capcom announced the server shutdown of Resident Evil Re:Verse this July 29.

Resident Evil Re:Verse Ends Service, As Game Gets Removed From Digital Storefronts
According toCapcom. “Resident Evil Re:Verse was developed in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil series, and your overwhelming support for the game has far exceeded our expectations since the time of its release. Now that we’ve reached a new turning point for the series, we feel that Resident Evil Re:Verse has served its original, celebratory purpose admirably.”
The schedule has also been revealed, where it mentions that on June 01, 2025, Resident Evil Re:Verse and its DLCs will be removed from online stores.
The actual shutdown of the servers will happen on July 05, 2025, at 11:59 pm PT/2:59 pm ET. Starting from this date, Resident Evil Re:Verse will no longer be included with a purchase of Resident Evil Village.
If you own a download code acquired before this date, you can download Resident Evil Re:Verse now until the servers are pulled permanently.
While its premise seemed good on paper, Resident Evil Re:Verse didn’t catch on.OnSteam Charts, it showed the all-time peak for players was just at 2,115, which wasestablished over two years ago. Currently, there are now 44 players on PC.
While we don’t know the console numbers, I would be shocked if they were not similar to what we see on PCs.
In terms of what’s next for the franchise,Capcom has announced Resident Evil 9,though there’s not much information about it other than that it is currently in development. Will we see a multiplayer component for it? I wouldn’t bet against it, but if there is one, let’s hope it fares better than Re:Verse.
