Resident Evil 4 Remakeis full of requests for you to deviate from the main story and take some time to complete. These requests are often simple tasks that give great rewards and a special currency known as Spinels that can be traded to the Merchant for unique rewards.

After rescuing Ashley from the church, you’ll pass by this request asking you to hunt down a powerful dog running around in the area. While the story may seem like you’re on a strict timeline, there are always a few extra minutes to devote to completing requests to make sure you’re prepared for whatever story moment is next.
Locating The Savage Mutt
This request is unique in that you’ll be hunting an abnormal dog running around in the village and the Village Chief’s Manor. The request says the Mutt islocated at the Village Chief’s Manor, and that’s the first place you’ll go, butthe actual fight will happen at the village. Head to the Village Chief’s Manor first, andhead upstairs to the bedroomyou were previously attacked.
On the other side of the bed will be a ladder that Ashley will need to be boosted to and pulled down for Leon to climb. The attic will have a few items for you to loot while also having a window that,once you approach, you’ll see a large dog run away and towards the village. Leaving the manor, you’ll see the dog again on the other side of the gate, and it will run towards the village upon approaching it.Follow the dog back to the villageandbe prepared to fightas it will be hard to see coming in the storm.

Killing The Save Mutt
The Savage Mutt is a larger dog than others you’ll have faced up until this point. It’s faster, hits harder, and will mutate after taking enough damage.Flashbangs or grenades are great as they will knock the dog off of its feet, briefly stunning it and making it an easier target to hit.The Shotgun excels in this fightas the dog will move fast, and a wider spread will help your odds of hitting it while also dealing more damage as it runs up toward you.
After taking enough damage, the back of thedog willmutate into a large spear-type body part.It will continue moving fast but now has a much longer range to attack with. Shooting this new body part will make short work of the dog, andcontinue utilizing explosives or flashbang grenadesto give yourself an easy shot. With this multi-step request, the Merchantrewards you fairly for a total of 8 Spinel, making this a worthwhile request while you wait for the extraction helicopter.
