Microsoft is gearing up to significantly expand the exclusive library of its consoles. Both the console giants have been going all out in acquiring studios, with Sony recently acquiring Housemarque games, the developers of the critically acclaimed game, Returnal.
This came soon after Microsoft’s whopping acquisition of Zenimax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks. It was quite a huge announcement, and it is expected that we might be seeing quite a number of exciting things in the near future as a result of the acquisition.
Acquisitions aside, it is a known fact that several games are in the works for Xbox consoles. However, we haven’t heard much about many of them. The latest leak gives us some exciting insight on what games are in development for Xbox consoles.
Two “Dragon” Games In Development For Xbox
Today, a new rumour suggests that not one but two dragon games are in development for Xbox consoles. This leak comes from prominent game journalistJeff Grubb, who has an excellent track record in the past. He reveals this information in a podcast at Destin.
The first Dragon game Jeff is talking about is being developed by IO Interactive, the team behind the critically acclaimedHitmanfranchise, and was announced earlier this year for those who are unaware. For now, we know that is a dragon-themed fantasy RPG and is known asProject Dragon. It is quite an ambitious project, with a 10-year content plan reportedly in place for the game. Jeff refers to this game as a Destiny-styled game, which gives us some idea about what to expect from it.
Interestingly, Jeff states that there is another Dragon game in the works, which will be an MMO. Many believe that it could beDragon’s Dogma 2, but there is no credible source hinting at that. It will be interesting to see what Xbox has in store for fans out there.
