What Happened Previously On Rent-A-Girlfriend?
Kazuya became engrossed in web novels, searching for a movie script, and the one named ‘The Ultramarine Constellation’ deeply moved him. He proposed the idea to Chizuru about a coming-of-age drama about a college girl. She agreed to read it and hinted that she might have feelings for Kazuya.
As they awaited her response, Kazuya couldn’t stop thinking about her. Later, Chizuru approved of the script, and they met with upperclassmen, including Tabuse, who joined the project to repay Chizuru’s past help. With two weeks left for crowdfunding, Mini arrived unexpectedly, offering to help with crowdfunding, and they strategized to ensure success.
After Mini returned, she informed Kazuya about a crucial requirement for their project’s success. This led Kazuya to call Chizuru and Ruka for a discussion. Kazuya introduced Mini as their neighbor and movie collaborator, which piqued Ruka’s curiosity; claiming to be Kazuya’s girlfriend. Mini emphasized the need to improve the project with enticing rewards, like Chizuru’s personal items and signed script copies. She suggested social media promotion and distributing fliers as part of the plan. While handing out fliers, Kazuya accidentally revealed the movie project to Sumi, who decided to support their crowdfunding effort.
Mini helped Chizuru pick reward items, which included a hair tie and a Chinese dress. When Mini asked if Chizuru had a boyfriend, she denied it. Mini suggested Kazuya as a potential partner, but Chizuru thought he only saw her as an actress. Mini revealed Kazuya’s feelings for her, making Chizuru skeptical.
