Record of Ragnarok, or Shūmatsu no Walküre, is an upcoming anime based on a popular Japanese manga of the same name. Written by Shinya Umemura and illustrated by Ajichika, theRecord of Ragnarokfeatures mighty battles between Gods and humans.
Apparently, after every 1000 years, the Gods' Council assembles to decide the fate of humanity. Interestingly, this council features a fictional version of several Gods, including Buddha, Thor, Zeus, Shiva, Odin, Loki, and many more. And these Gods decide that after 7 million years of wars and destruction, humanity must be completely wiped out.
However, Brunhilde, the eldest Valkyrie Sister, takes a stand for humanity and asks other Gods to give them a second chance. Eventually, everyone decides that the battle of Ragnarok would seal the fate of humanity.
In the tournament, 13 humans, picked by Brunhilde, would go against 13 Gods. If the human warriors manage to win 7 rounds, Gods will spare humanity from their wrath for the next 1000 years.
