Ghost of Yotei’s release date wasannouncedjust last week, with pre-orders going live on May 2. In the span of a few days, Sucker Punch’s upcoming sequel to Ghost of Tsushima managed to rise to the top of the PlayStation Store pre-order page for both theUSandUK(thanks,PushSquare!).
The samurai sequel managed to unseat familiar brand names like Madden 26 and College Football 26 in the US, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Elden Ring Nightreign, and many more. In the UK, it stands atop titles such as F1 25, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, and DOOM.
What’s surprising is that the more expensive Digital Deluxe Edition is trending the most instead of the game’s standard version, which is $10 cheaper. The Digital Deluxe Edition houses the following items in case you’re trying to choose which version to pre-purchase.

Set 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yotei stars a new protagonist in Atsu, who’s hunting a group of villains that killed her family.
Ghost of Yotei Story Synopsis:
“Sixteen years ago in the heart of Ezo (called Hokkaido in present day), a gang of outlaws known as the Yōtei Six took everything from Atsu. They killed her family and left her for dead, pinned to a burning ginkgo tree outside her home.
But Atsu survived. She learned to fight, to kill, and to hunt, and after years away she has returned to her home with a list of six names: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito. One by one, she’s hunting them down to avenge her family, armed with the same katana used to pin her to that burning tree all those years ago. While we’re expecting a PlayStation State of Play dedicated entirely to the game to air sometime this year, scant gameplay details are already making their way out. Sucker Punch confirmed that Ghost of Yotei will offerthe “most freedom” and the largest mapthe studio has developed so far.
Ghost of Yotei releases exclusively on the PS5 this October 2.
