March has been a relative feast forPokemon GOplayers across the globe.

We are now nearing the end of the month’s third major event, Weather Week, and are starting to look forwards to the new month and all it entails.

Before that, however, we have one more Spotlight Hour inPokemon GO(the fifth of the month) - this time featuring the Lava Pokemon Slugma and its evolution Magcargo, as well as double catch candy.

The question ahead of this spotlight hour though is - “Are Slugma and Magcargo shiny inPokemon GO?”

WEATHER WEEK-Pokemon GO’s Water/Flying Event - End Time, Research, Rewards and Bonuses

What do shiny Slugma and shiny Magcargo look like?

Slugma and Magcargo look like creatures you’d find at the bottom of your garden, except if they were made out of glowing orange lava.

Slugma is a bright orange slug and Magcargo is an orange snail with a grey shell.

Their shiny forms on the other hand offer drastic changes and are definitely one of the cooler shiny variants in Pokemon from the Johto region.

Slugma turns from its usual orange colour to a much more understated grey. This offers a major contrast to what we’re used to.

Magcargo goes in the other direction. Rather than turning a duller colour, the Pokemon becomes a vivid purple with its shell turning more orange.

Is shiny Slugma and shiny Magcargo available during the Spotlight Hour?

After the month’s Spotlight Hours started so strongly, with the first three events offering shiny variants, things seem to have slowed down.

Last week, the Surskit Spotlight Hour was a disappointment, with no shiny Pokemon available and unfortunately, this one will be the same.

Slugma and Magcargo are two of only a small number of second-generation Pokemon who haven’t had their shiny forms released yet.
