April Fools is upon us and that means you may’t believe much on the internet over the next day or so, butPokemon GOis celebrating the occasion with a short event focused on Ditto, and with it comes the new 2-Oh-22 Special Research as well.
Pokemon GOand April Fools' Day go hand-in-hand, because that is actually one of the ways that Pokemon GO even became a thing in the first place.
Google Maps' Pokemon integration in 2014 no doubt inspired the eventualPokemon GOthat came two years later in 2016 and the game itself is now celebrating the day in its own way here in 2022.
What Is The Pokemon GO 2-Oh-22 Event?
The Pokemon GO 2-Oh-22 event is a special one day event to celebrate April Fools' Day, which happens to be specifically be focused around Ditto.
The official Pokemon GO Twitter has been making posts like the one above but staying very vague about things overall. This is because the main part of the event is that more Pokemon than usual are going to transform into Ditto upon capture.
On top of the increased chance to get a Ditto during this event, there is also a new Special Research for the event for you to complete.
The event itself will start on Friday, April 1 at 12:00 am local time and will run through 11:59 pm local time, with the 2-Oh-22 Special Research being able to be obtained as soon as it starts.
In addition, there will be a three hour window between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm local time where the following Pokemon will be spawning more often, who can also transform into Ditto potentially.
Pokemon GO April Fools 2-Oh-22 Special Research Tasks and Rewards
The Pokemon GO April Fools 2-Oh-22 Special Research is a fairly simple research for you to finish, which makes sense considering it’s based around a one-day event.
In total, the event is made of three steps, with the third simply asking you to claim the rewards. Most of them are very easy to complete, though one will be much harder to complete outside of the 2-Oh-22 event specifically.

As this is a Special Research, there is no deadline for you to actually complete it as long as you do play the game during the event at all and get the Special Research itself. However, the fact that one step requires you to catch three Transform Pokemon and they are very rare in the game means you will really want to try to complete this one while it is going on.
