Atlus and Koei Tecmo revealed new details onPersona 5 Scramblethrough this week’s Famitsu magazine, detailing how New Game Plus works.
What’s interesting here is howPersona 5 Scramblehas a special condition required to unlock New Game Plus mode, where you’ll keep your level, items, equipment, and more. To unlock it, besides clearing the game, you first need to defeat The Reaper, who is one of the usual optional bosses of thePersonaseries since its renewal withPersona 3.
Besides the usual type of sidequests which we’ve already heard about, the game has specific sidequests where the Phantom Thieves are tasked to defeat a certain powerful enemy. The battle against The Reaper happens through one of these sidequests. Defeating powerful personas through these sidequests will also unlock them for fusion.
In New Game Plus mode, you’ll also be able to use Wolf, Zenkichi Hasegawa, from the start, and you’ll be able to fuse new personas. Starting New Game Plus, players will also be able to playPersona 5 Scramble’s highest difficulty. It’s titled Risky, at least in Japanese and the name will probably change in the localization for whatever reason. Playing in Risky makes the game much harder, but also ups the drop rates of items which permanently increase a character’s stats.
Persona 5 Scramble The Phantom Strikerslaunches on February 20 in Japan. A demo will launch on February 6 on the Japanese PlayStation Store and Nintendo Eshop. We’ll be publishing a playthrough of the demo so stay tuned.
Note that this is information coming from the usual Famitsu magazineleaks, and we might update this article when Famitsu Magazine is available in a few hours, assuming more interesting details are still included there.
