Drums of Liberation isn’t a mere soundtrack but is symbolic of a history that parallels real-life events. In Wano Arc, the drums signify the end of an era of oppression and cruelty. It stands as a redefining moment for the inhabitants of the Wano.
Compared to previous gears,Gear 5had an added gravitas to it, especially with its impact on the series. Additionally, it also garnered criticism because of its cartoonish flair. This, however, had most fans overlooking its key aspect.
The Looney Toons soundtrack coupled with Luffy’s mannerisms is what makes it interesting. As opposed to the cliche portrayals of heroism, the character reshapes the viewers’ idea of valor. While it was an impactful feat for animators, this left fans with a burning question.

Oda’s reasoning for the question makes sense considering the amount of censorship and backlash. And while we’re glad the character’s jewels didn’t make their way into the headlines, one thing is certain.
It stands in contrast with another hero from the Marvel Universe in terms of his abilities. Both forms involve the transmorphing of bodies. Yet this would befuddle the latter in terms of logic.

Luffy’sGear 5 has its charm with a dash of theatrics and the old-school cartoonish flair. Toei’s animation of the scene was nothing short of enthralling. From impact frames to HD animation, Toei left no stone unturned in taking that moment to another level.
It also stands in contrast with Hulk’s transformation in the Avengers. This is not to compare both characters. Barring the censorship, the scene defies logic on most terms. It would probably befuddle the Green Giant in terms of its idealism.
While Hulk’s transformation shows his brute strength and aggression, Gear-5 is the opposite. It is a ratherfluid and unorthodox approachto a fight. The smoke, laughter, and Nika’s silhouette are a cherry on the cake.
Besides, Luffy’s clothes transmorphing with his giant body contrasts Hulk’s form. While the Giant loses his clothes following the censored scene, the former does quite the contrary.
