The mysterious nature of theOne Piecehas kept fans going for decades now. As the Straw Hat Pirates start their journey into Elbaf Island, the pages of the manga are slowly closing in on a conclusion. After having followed the franchise for so long, at some point it is only obvious that Eiichiro Oda would start uncovering every single secret he chose to bury within the pages.

One Piece

Apart from the title itself being a big mystery, many have been scratching their heads over where Laugh Tale even is. While many characters are on the journey to learn the truth about what the One Piece is, there could be a reason as to why it has taken everyone so long.

The True Location of Laugh Tale

It is common practice inOne Pieceto take one’s time on whatever island is visited until the Log Pose is set. This helps determine the location of their next stop and sometimes it could take a long time to chart the course. The nature of the Grand Line is such that ordinary compasses can only do so much. To fix such a problem, a Log Pose is used.

According to a theory proposed by@next.on.one.pieceon Instagram, Imu may already be away of where theOne Pieceis hidden. They may have, in fact, hidden it with Joyboy trying to stop them but ultimately failing to do so. There could be a possibility that the Log Pose kept in Laugh Tale just takes exceptionally long to set.

As such, Joboy may have placed one in hopes of it being set after 800 years. What Gol D. Roger found when he reached the island was that Log Pose and a letter from Joyboy conveying the same. The fact that we know of Roger’s laughing could make sense here because of how much faith Joyboy must have had in humanity to wait and come back 800 years later.

The Hunt for the One Piece

It was only after the Wano arc that Shanks suggested to go find the One Piece. It could be so that twenty years after Roger’s visit, the Log Pose would finally be able to locate where Laugh Tale really is. It could be that Shanks too knew of where the Log Pose was.

Moreover, Imu’s hands may be tied with their own limitations. Finding the One Piece is an ultimate goal even for the mysterious figure. It could be that once the Log Pose is finally ready, the race wouldn’t just be between some of the strongest pirates but also Imu.

Joyboy’s goal essentially connects Roger, Imu, Luffy, and Shanks together. It sets up the fact that they all play a part in reaching the true treasure of the series one step at a time. The wait of 800 years would make even more concrete sense learning that the Log Pose is what everyone was waiting for in the first place.
