Episode 6 ofHouse of the DragonSeason 2 roused controversy among fans after Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen and her spymaster, the White Worm Mysaria, shared an unexpected kiss. While this seemingly looked like a rash decision they made during the heat of the moment, it could also be a hint of what’s coming for Team Black.
Mysaria rose from her rank as a former prostitute to a royalty’s trusted advisor, and this may have been a mistake after all, at least according to some fans who believe she is not a person to be trusted.
House of the Dragontheory suggested Mysaria is a villain in Season 3
As the bloody civil war ensued in Season 2 ofHouse of the Dragon, Rhaenyra Targaryen continued to fight for her crown and did everything she could to do it the peaceful way. Played byEmma D’Arcy, the Black queen sought advice from her trusted ally, Mysaria (portrayed bySonoya Mizuno), throughout the series.
Now, a fan postulated a fantastic theory on Reddit that the White Worm could be actually plotting against the queen. The proposition states that Mysaria’s true intention is to isolate Rhaenyra from her small council and her son, basically removing people who could protect her, and eventually influence her decision-making.
The netizen mentioned that, at one point, Mysaria wanted to give dragons to the smallfolk as evident inThe Red Sowingepisode where they had dragonseeds attempt to claim Vermithor and Silverwing. This would prove to be a terribly bad idea, but the fan noted that it could either mean two things – Mysaria wasn’t clever at all or could be planning for something unexpected.
The rest of the theory sounded absolutely wild yet too intriguing to witness on screen. To have Mysaria turn Rhaenyra against Daemon and have that incident cause his demise during his fight with Aemond at the Gods Eye, as well as advise her to arrest Lord Corlys and eventually losing her navy fleet, would send her to her doom in no time.
The netizen also suggested that Mysaria could be the one to take out Helaena the Dreamer because she sees everything and might spill her secrets to Rhaenyra the way she showed up in Daemon’s visions in Harrenhal.

The bits and pieces of clues were scattered in that controversial intimate scene when Mysaria was surprised after Rhaenyra opened up and even wrapped her in an embrace. Interestingly, she looked very angry when a guard interrupted her moment with the queen.
Will Season 3 reveal Mysaria as a traitor?
It would be nice to see this change in pacing and storyline in Season 3, but given how fans severely criticized the show for being soafraid to make female characters evil– like how Rhaenyra and Alicent always trying to reconcile – we cannot expectRyan Condaland his team to go down this path.
