The strongest giant in the entireOne Piecenarrative, Loki, has been the center of the Elbaph storyline since the beginning of the arc. He has been portrayed as the big bad villain who wreaked havoc on his own country and killed his father to take control of the legendary Devil Fruit that is passed through the royal bloodline of Elbaph.

And now, theOne Piecestory has taken a major shift as the members of the God Knights have entered the scene, and they are actively trying to recruit Loki into their army. All of these are hints that Loki is an absolutely dangerous and powerful character, and it won’t be easy to mess with him. However, it also rectifies one mistake that Eiichiro Oda made with Kaido in the Wano arc.
One of the biggest mistakes with Kaido’s character development inOne Piecewas that despite being the strongest creature in theOne Pieceworld, Kaido never got the respect he deserved. But with Loki, Oda is continuously trying to prove his strength by introducing instances from his past and involving the World Government itself.

The biggest mistake thatOne Piecemade with Kaido’s character
Since the name of Kaido was mentioned inOne Piece,he was hyped as the strongest creature in the world. From the discussion about his fight with Shanks during Marineford to Doflamingo’s affiliation with him, every aspect of his character screams about his menacing personality and his unprecedented strength as an Emperor of the Sea.

However, when he actually made an official appearance inOne Piece, many fans complainedthat he couldn’t live up to his hype. Despite being the main villain of Wano, he was constantly undermined because of other significantOne Piececharacters introduced in the narrative. Not only that, he didn’t even win a single fight against his opponents, be it Yamato or the Nine Red Scabbards.
While he was shown to possess ultimate strength, none of it meant anything becauseEiichiro Odawas unable to justify it with a victory or a twist that would provide significance to it. Thus, despite being the strongest creature, Kaido couldn’t live up to his own name inOne Piece.

Eiichiro Oda is rectifying his old mistakes with Loki
As has been already highlighted inOne Piece,Loki is a lot like Kaido in many aspects. However, the one thing that draws parallels between the two is their strength. While one is the strongest creature, the other is the strongest giant, which means that Loki’s strength will also need some kind of justification that will help establish its significance within the narrative.
This time, Oda decided to avoid his previous mistake and gave Loki that justification by introducing the God Knights. The role of God Knights as of now is to recruit Loki.

Considering the fact that the God Knights are insanely powerful on their own, their need to bring Loki with them hints that Loki might be extremely significant, especially in the case of strength and power.

Their efforts hint that Loki is unlike any otherOne Piececharacter and thus in a way reflects his importance in the Elbaph arc. With this already established, the hype around Loki’s character is perfectly built and will probably be explored in a much better way than whatOda did with Kaidoin Wano.
