Arrowhead Game Studios recently revealed the next Warbond coming toHelldivers 2titled the Viper Commandos Warbond. Fans are praising the announcement of this new Warbond on social media and have prematurely started celebrating the studio’s newly found direction.
Shams Jorjani, the recently appointed CEO of Arrowhead, however, is deflecting any kind of personal credit for this success despite fans insisting that the game has taken a turn for the positive since his arrival as CEO.

The Viper Commando Warbond seems to be making fans happy as positive comments fill social media following the announcement. The Viper Commandos Warband is priced at 1,000 Super Credits ($9.99), a cost that players seem willing to pay with the improvement in quality from before. Many fans attributed this improvement in quality to Shams Jorjani and his arrival at the company.
His response to this praise is a humble one as he responded in a tweet stating “Not me. It’s all the team,” insisting that any success of the Viper Commandos Warbond is a result of the entire team’s efforts. Not just his own.

The Viper Commandos Warbond comes out on June 13. This new Warbond will feature new jungle-themed armor and weapons for close-quarters combat. This includes the AR-23A Liberator Carbine and the SG-22 Bushwhacker shotgun. The armor sets, including the PH-9 Predator and PH-202 Twigsnapper, are designed to be jungle warfare-themed and should appeal to players who like camo sets.

The Polar Patriots Warbond that came out in May was met with disappointment and complaints from players. Fans felt that the content offered was lacking and didn’t meet the high standards set by previous Warbonds. His predecessor, Johan Pilestedt is now the Chief Creative Officer. This leadership change seems to have positively impacted the company’s direction. And they’ll need this impetus with the upcoming release ofWarhammer 40k: Space Marine 2which could potentiallycompete againstHelldivers 2with its’ PvE mode.
Community manager Katherine Baskin talked about the studio’s shift in approach, focusing on quality over quantity for future content releases. She highlighted the ideas that go into making Warbonds, stating that the goal of each Warbond is to allow players to live out their soldier fantasies within the Helldivers universe.
This update marks a turning point forHelldivers 2as the devs hope to restore the game’s reputation after the setbacks caused by the Polar Patriots warbond. The studio’s responsiveness to player feedback and commitment to delivering high-quality content are steps in the right direction.
