In fact, just shortly before the couple tied the knot, Wendell Pierce, who played Markle’s father in the legal drama promised to support the Duchess of Sussex no matter what happened.

Her time on the show allowed her to form deep friendships with her co-stars, many of whom publicly supported her throughout her relationship withPrince Harry.
One of her supporters was none other than the actor, Wendell Pierce. In an episode ofWho’s Talking to Chris Wallace?,the actor revealed that he had once warned Markle about the life she was getting into by marrying the Duke of Sussex. But he also promised to be there for her no matter what happened in the marriage.
It was the last night of working and I said, ‘Meghan, your life is going to change, and you’re going to be in a bubble. But just always remember, no matter what, I’m your friend — you have lots of friends.’
Pierce went on to reveal that it was a concern that every cast member shared but only a few were vocal about it. The 60-year-old continued,“We’re always thinking about you, we’ll always be there for you. And you know, no matter where you are, always know you have a friend in me.”
With Markle and the Duke being thrown into the public eye ever since their split from the Royal Family, worries about the couple and their relationship reached an all-time high. After all, they had shone a light on the difficulties and struggles of being a royal.

When [Meghan] came into town, she got an award last year, had a chance to say hello and wish she and Prince Harry well and wish the children well. They look very much in love and were very happy, so that’s the most important thing.
With rumors of trouble in paradise andproblems with the Royal Family, Pierce managed to single-handedly shut them down. He also admitted that he and the Duchess had spent more time together. The 60-year-old continued,“I’ve gotten to see her just a few times since, and we’ve been able to reminisce and so it’s real, we have fond memories of working together.”
